Covid-19 compliance

Parent Guide illness
COVID-19 Childcare Guidelines
As our program reopens, it is crucial that our communication with you is transparent and accurate. There are many policies, procedures and regulations we must follow and some that we intend to follow for the sake of everyone’s health and well-being.

The following will be implemented in our program until further notice in response to COVID-19.

  • Masks – Falling in with California's new mask policies, WGCEDEP strongly recommends your children wear a mask while at daycare. Please, have a conversation with your children about being respectful of others choices. As always we will follow our behavior policies in response to disrespectful behaviors.
    • We will not be enforcing masks outdoors. If you would like your child to wear their mask outdoors please have a conversation with them before they arrive on Monday.

  • Daily Health Checks – The primary parent on your Curacubby account will be text messaged a daily health screening questionnaire. This is required daily before we will accept your child from school, if we do not receive it before school is let out we will send your child to the school office. Parents are required to inform us of symptoms of illness within the household that have potential to be COVID-19, review this guide on what to do if your child is showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
    • We will also take your child’s temperature when they arrive (or are picked up –TK&K). If the child’s temperature is 100 degrees or higher they will not be allowed to attend daycare even if they were at school all day. Children should be fever free without medication for 24 hours prior to returning to our program.

  • COVID-19 Cases and Close Contact – If a staff member or child tests positive with COVID-19 or is a close contact of someone that tested positive with COVID-19 we will follow the steps listed above. Parents are required to inform us of positive cases within the household. Please be aware that tuition will be due if you are required to isolate due to COVID-19.

  • Physical Distancing – We will do our best to keep the children 6ft apart as often as possible. We will be running our program outside unless weather does not permit.

  • Hand Washing – Children and staff will wash hands more frequently throughout the day to reduce transmission of germs. Proper hand washing will be reinforced and monitored closely by staff. We will accomplish this with portable sinks and hand sanitizing stations.

  • Sanitizing and Disinfecting – To keep everyone as safe as possible, we will intensify our efforts to keep our facility disinfected. Staff will increase their frequency of cleaning surfaces and classroom materials. Surfaces such as doorknobs, sink handles, and railings will be disinfected regularly.
